Culture is Life is honoured to collaborate with the National NAIDOC Committee and the ABC to produce the National NAIDOC Education Resources for the third year in a row. There is nothing more powerful than having our stories not only heard, but deeply reflected upon and learnt from by educators and students across the country. This year’s NAIDOC theme echos Culture is Life’s purpose to support young people to deepen their connection to culture, Country and community, contribute to global knowledge and to positively impact the health and wellbeing of current and future generations.

The 2025 Offical NAIDOC resources aim to inspire teachers and students to learn, connect with and celebrate the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, in particular our younger generations, across diverse areas of interest, professions and roles in their community. We believe all Australian teachers and students can benefit from learning this rich history to build a brighter future from the legacies paved.

We acknowledge it is impossible to highlight all the passionate change leaders from across the continent and islands, and therefore we encourage you as educators to look locally first, and share the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the communities near your school or early learning centre.

We respect the immense responsibility placed on teachers to nurture our next generations, and we remind teachers of their professional responsibility in teaching the cross-curriculum priority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures and subject and year-level specific curriculum related to First Nations peoples of Australia.

NAIDOC Week is the perfect week to be committed, focused and creative in ensuring First Nations cultures are seen, celebrated and learnt from! These resources, and all the incredible First Nations-led resources, have a life that continues long after NAIDOC Week, and we encourage all teachers to access and embrace the stories and teachings of the oldest living culture in the world!

A huge congratulations to the First Nations educators, writers, designers and printers that made this resource what it is. And to the ABC, The National NAIDOC Committee, particularly Aunty Lynette Riley, and all the teachers and students who keep teaching and learning from these stories now and will do for generations to come.

Our stance on Jan 26 is clear. This is still a Day of Mourning for us as our Elders first declared in 1938.

We have advocated for ten years since our beginning to change the date and we continue to stand with the growing tide of mob and allies calling for change. 💪🏽💪🏼

We support the many mob-led acts of resistance, love and connection happening across the country on Monday. 🖤💛❤️
As Jan 26 draws nearer, we’re inspired by this insight from our Fullaship Alumni, Shaylem Wilson (Ngarrindjeri).

Wellbeing Tips for Survival Day 🖤💛❤️

We’re still recovering from the heat wave ☀️💺 but absolutely buzzing after our week on Larrakia Country.
So many thought-provoking convos, deep learnings, and moments that’ll stay with us for a long time.

Huge shoutout to the 2025 Fellows for showing up with heart, courage and curiosity, and to everyone we connected with along the way.

Community, culture and Country… that’s the real magic. ✨
